The post-baccalaureate premed program at Armstrong Atlantic State University is for students with undergraduate degrees that did not fully satisfy the course work requirements for entry into medical school, dental school or other professional schools, such as physician assistant programs. For instance, medical schools require a year of biology, a year of physics and two years of chemistry. AASU's post-baccalaureate premed program is a two-year program that satisfies the biology, physics and chemistry requirements for medical school. Course schedules are flexible and a one-year program is available for students who have completed a year of general chemistry. In the process of completing the courses for admission to medical school or other medical studies, many students radically increase their knowledge of and proficiency in the basic sciences. For students who desire an additional academic credential to reflect this increased proficiency, Armstrong offers a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies. AASU offers a complete premed education as well as advisement and recommendation letters from the Premedical Advisory Committee. Your course schedule is flexible and will be determined by you and your advisor to cover the required course work and as many recommended courses as is feasible. Courses required by medical colleges:

To be eligible for the post-baccalaureate premed program a student must be accepted to AASU without any academic deficiencies and must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. It should be understood that this is not a remedial program. Students must pay the appropriate tuition rates.
